On 21st March, 2021/ 2077 Chaitra 8 Sunday, the website and digital library of CDLIS, TU was unveiled by the Rector Prof. Dr. Shiva Lal Bhusal, who praised the Central Department of Library and Information Science for managing digital contents. He also urged for the standards of website for all the departments and affiliated colleges of the Tribhuvan University. The website and the digital library was built in WordPress, Koha, and DSpace open source software. Moreover, CDLIS has subscribed to the EBSCO and Research4life database which enriches the digital contents of research journals. Silverlinetechnolgy.com has assisted in building a website and the digital library of CDLIS which could be visited on www.tucdlis.edu.np. Mr. Dybendra Hyoju presented on the website and the digital library of CDLIS.
During the inauguration program, dozens of teachers and students expressed their well-wishes for the continuity of the digital journey. Among them the Dean of Science Faculty, Prof. Dr. Binil Aryal, Chief Librarian of TUCL Purna Lal Shrestha, Associate Professor Bhim Dhoj Shrestha, Nepal Library Association’s President Indra Prasad Adhikari, TULSSAA President Mahesh Khanal, Vishma Bhattarai, Prem Adhikari, Ramesh Khanal, Bijaya Sharma, Goma Banjade, Chumban Gautam, and Arjun Niraula expressed their best wishes.
The program was chaired by the Principal Prof. Dr. Dhyanendra Bahadur Rai, who expressed his immense happiness for the team work of the department’s faculty members. The HoD Nira Manandhar welcomed all the guests and participants while the Assistant Professor Lila Nyaichyai, Ph.D has hosted the program. Likewise Assistant Professor Parbati Pandey and Sarita Gautam had facilitated the program.
